The Assessment Only route is only available to current Northern Education Trust employees.
Achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by the Assessment Only Route takes no longer than one term (three calendar months). Candidates, with the support of their academy, present a portfolio of evidence from their past and current teaching experience which is assessed against the Teachers’ Standards.
Entry requirements – Assessment Only Route:
Extensive, recent, relevant and successful teaching experience in at least two schools and within the age phase of either 3-11 (primary) or 11-19 (secondary)
A minimum of two years’ teaching experience with full responsibility for the planning, teaching and assessment of lessons
An undergraduate degree
GCSE mathematics and English (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (Grade C) or above
GCSE science (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (Grade C) or above (primary)
An enhanced DBS check for the child workforce, with a check of the children’s barred list
If your qualifications are not at the required level, you can work with Educate Group to complete GCSE equivalency tests.
